Nope, just wrapped very tightly and then at the end, used electrical tape to keep the end down. Probably a fancier way to do it but it has held up for 8 years or so now. Nice and smooth all the way...

We wrapped the grab bar on the mud boat with paracord all of the way around. Works great.

Apologies, thought I stated it was for lead. Journees formula is for lead shot and is merely an approximation of max distance, not whether something could be dangerous or not. Skeet clubs use that...

Journees Formula will give the range at which shot can travel. Now whether it will have the ability to damage is another story, but this is the range at which shot can travel:
