Well ... I finally managed to get a whole weekend off of work! :D It's time for a little "sanity maintenance" ... so I decided to go drown some bait. ;) Catching fish wasn't the object .... just relaxing.

Anyway, my daughter saw me getting the boat & fishing gear ready ... she was having a fit to go with me. I ended up taking her along. I had been hearing rumors of the striped bass starting to show up ... they were right. :)

The Largemouth & the striper on the right (the bigger one - 8.5 lbs) were caught by my daughter. I ended up with the middle fish & the little "peanut". ;) The were all caught on live bait (threadfin shad) and on light tackle (10 lbs. or less) in one of the tributaries to the St. Johns river.

Nice catch! I'm glad to hear you finally got some unwind time. All work and no play makes Kevin a dull boy. I can tell by the smile on your daughters face that she had a great time. Keep those kids hunting and fishing, thats our only hope for a bright future in the outdoors. :icon_salu

WTG

Glad to see true stripers and not hybrids.

Looks like I'll be heading for the Ole "hole" soon.

Which one?

The one North of Lk George ... or the one at the south end of Lake George?

I've always had the best luck in that area by using grass shrimp ...

I dunno ...

I went out Sunday morning (6 - 10 am) ... and scored a big fat ZERO.

Some days are ON ... some aren't. :(
