Yeah ... definitely worth the time!
I'm not going to be able to attend the one in Ocala ... the 18th is the same day that my company has scheduled the company picnic. One of those things ... got to keep "momma" happy. ;)

Yes, it is a good thing to attend...unfortunately , The 18th is my daughter Rachels "big day" and I will be busy wearing a tuxedo and walking her down the aisle :) I plan on some big eating and drinking too!
The 1st of Nov. is do-able!.....hope to see you there.

Dan - it should be the same material. I have been to both in the past and there were really no differences.

Fins,
As far as which is better, I've heard nothing but good things about the UW event. Just looking at the outline, it appears to be the same format that we have been using over the last (8) eight years.
Duckmanhar,
We can always use the help!!!

This is the news release about the two workshops in Central Florida:
FREE DUCK HUNTING WORKSHOPS IN MARION, INDIAN RIVER COUNTIES
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering two free workshops for anyone interested in learning how and where to hunt ducks in Florida. One workshop is in Marion County, the other in Indian River County. The family-oriented events are designed for beginning through advanced duck hunters, and those unfamiliar with duck hunting in Florida.
The first is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m., in the Ocala National Forest at the FWC’s Hunter Education Training Center (HETC). The center is located at 7325 NE 170th Ave. (CR 314).
To register for the workshop and to receive directions to the HETC call Greg Workman at (352) 625-2804.
The second workshop will be held Nov. 1 from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m., at the Indian River County Public Shooting Range at 10455 102nd Terrace in Sebastian. To sign up and get directions contact Ron Bielefeld at T.M. Goodwin Waterfowl Management Area at (321) 726-2862.
Registration is free but space is limited to the first 100 participants for each workshop.
This year a free BBQ lunch will be provided at both workshops. These family-oriented workshops are presented by the FWC’s Waterfowl Management Section and S.T.E.P. OUTSIDE, and are designed for both the new and seasoned waterfowl hunter.
“We all can improve upon our skills as hunters and stewards of our natural resources, and that is the purpose of these workshops,” said Bielefeld. “By being aware of all the different aspects of waterfowl hunting, especially the aspects unique to Florida, hunters will be more successful and conservation minded.”
The one day workshops will be packed with just about all the information hunters need to get started duck hunting in Florida. They will cover such topics as places to hunt, personal gear, boats, blinds, decoys, calling, duck identification, wing-shooting, hunter ethics, training and using a dog, and cleaning and preparing ducks for the dinner table.
“We are confident that hunters who attend a workshop will learn something that will help them be better sportsmen and sportswomen,” said Bielefeld.
The workshops have been scheduled to give prospective hunters plenty of time to get ready for the 2003-04 waterfowl hunting season. They are also an excellent opportunity to prepare children for the special Youth Waterfowl Days where children under the age of 16, supervised by an adult, may hunt waterfowl, coots and common moorhens.
