The SFWMD Recreation Workshop is tenatively scheduled to meet Monday May 16 at 4pm at the SFWMD offices on Gun Club Rd., just south of the West Palm Beach airport.
Confirmation will follow upon receipt of the agenda from the SFWMD.
I spoke with Jerry Krenz today and he mentioned substantial progress on a parking berm at STA 1W. He also said that the current plans for STA 3/4 would be as per the others, 25 pairs of hunters. There will be multiple cells and "assigned parking spots" available to allow moving of the hunting activity around the area to accomodate any construction activity that may arise during season. This flexibility will be sought at all the open STAs.
Jerry continues to be an important ally for all those who seek access to the STAs for recreation.....understanding that any activity must not interfere or be detrimental to the purpose of the marshes....filtration of phosporous from water to be sent to the Everglades.
