I saw this listing the other day and thought of you - I think it airs on the Outdoor Life Network TV Show:

WEDNESDAY - 5/18/2005 - 10:00AM - 10:30AM - DUCKS UNLIMITED TV

Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee/Alberta Snow Goose Hunt
Host, Wade Bourne teams up with waterfowl historian, Howard Harlan, and his hunting partner, Boyce Magli, for a traditional duck hunt on Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee the way it used to be done. After talking with Howard Harlan about the history of the sport, we go back to Alberta with Wade for snow and Ross' geese.

Thanks for the info. Reelfoot is a classic place to hunt.....but today is so caught up in "professional" that the public hunter has a much reduced opportunity.....Just read the Tenn. posts on any duck site and you will see the controversies. The really good public hunts are on the Miss. River when the water is at a reasonable level....not totally deadly, just a little dangerous.....and you have a safe rig. Lots of old river beds and sand bars on "navigible" water. That's one reason we must keep our eye on the move here in FL to change the navigible waters' boundary lines. Fl is actually one of the easiest places for the public hunter to find a spot near home.

This show was a rerun from last year. After the show I looked arond and found a guide and went there myself. A couple of weeks before Newton went. But as luck would have it Reelfoot was frozen over. We went to the blind in a airboat on top of the ice. 4 days hunting 3 ducks total. I am going back again this year the guide offered to refund or come back so Im going back.
