The regular monthly meeting in Ft. Lauderdale featured the presence of key FWC officials, including Chuck Collins, South Region Manger, Jen Williams, South Region Hunting Biologist, and Steve Coughlin. FWC regulations, especially for WMAs, were discussed and several new suggestions submitted for the bi-annual review now in progress.
They were aware of the two items previously submitted to Dianne regarding the Pintail/Canvasback season adjustment and the extension of waterfowl hunting to all WMAs for the full season.
Steve, who is instrumental in the STA hunting program, expressed a positive attitude toward the opening of STA3/4 this next season.
I want to give a special THANK YOU to the FWC folks who endured the meeting until after 10 PM after a hard day of touring Dinner Island and Fisheating Creek with parties interested in improving the hunting at those WMAs.
The EEC business portion of the meeting began thereafter. UW-F welcomes the opportunity to support this important and influential organization.
