Just wanted to say thanks to Duke, Newton, Joey and Joe (and others) for their sincere welcome to UWF and the information that they willingly provided to me.

I have learned more at the two days at the Waterfowl and Dog Days weekend than I have in the last month trying to do research on my own.

For those of you that are not members and are sitting on the fence about joining United Waterfowlers - Florida (as I was) - I can assure you that it is the best $25.00 dollars that I have spent.

Prior to joining UWF I had no idea about where or how to hunt ducks in Florida. After this weekend and conversations with members of this great organization I have learned about the general areas that certain species of ducks congregate, basic techniques of how to hunt them and the FL rules and regulations. In addition, I have had a couple of standing invitations to experience FL duck hunting and continue to learn about the resource and what FL has to offer. I still have a lot to learn, however I feel confident that this organization and its membership are the right people to be associated with. If you are not a member - JOIN NOW. You will benefit from being part of the United Waterfowlers - Florida.

Thanks again guys , and I look forward to being more involved with UWF and it's objectives.

Good to meet you too Dan. You're gonna want to go get that layout boat and your diver dekes before season - I'm sure you'll find use for them. ;)

Sorry we didn't formally meet (I lack the common social graces), I loved your pup although mine wasn't sure what to make of him. Good luck training him, they are excellent dogs and I'm sure you'll enjoy him as much as I do mine. If you're up this way I'll be happy to share with you what little I know of the local marshes.

You're more than welcome Dan..... We have a great group and we work hard and play hard although next year I will stay in Orlando rather than make the 2 hour trip home saturday evening only to get up early and ride back 2 hours in the morning.

PS...your pup was cute....good luck and good hunting!
