Well, yesterday was the last hurrah for the 04-05 season. I was considering one place but Dave(converted) called me and said that it was slow on saturday so we decided to hunt both our groups together in my back yard. It was a place that Dave had wanted to hunt but had not been to and since he was so gracious to show me around at a spot that I had wanted to hunt but had not been to....the plan was set.
We met at the landing and made out way out and after a long trip we were on station. Joey and I made our way about a 1/4 mile away and sat waiting to see if a flight path or honey hole could be located. Unfortunately for us, the ducks were not flying well but we heard some shots come from where we left the three Dave's. Eventually we picked a little spot and I climed in the layout and knocked down 3 teal and a ringer (that I could not find :tard: ). While I was in the layout boat joey managed to put the sneak on a Fulvous that he really wanted for a mount...It was not to be since the charge of #4's did some bad damage to its head. Joey then took his turn in the rig and I went and looked around at a part of the marsh I had not seen. He managed to get two teal but the lightly hit hen got away in heavy cover.
When we wrapped up he hunt we met the three Dave's in the main run for the trip back in. They had a pair of Widgeon.
So, that was it....the last hurrah for the season. It was great to get out with Dave and his son and his hunting buddy to put the season to bed...Thanks for the company Dave..Till next season buddy! :)

Thanks for the guided tour Joe! The widgeon were a nice bonus and added to the diversity of the bag for this season. I've been looking at that spot on some aerial photos for two years now, it was great to get in there and have a peek around.

"Until next season..." :booty: wishful thinking buddy, the work of UWF is just getting started for another year. See you Feb 3rd :icon_salu
