My Son's First Widgeon!

He got it right at legal shooting time.

We were hunting in a Nor'easter at Guana, the bird came in by itself and hovered over the decoys and my son got him with his second shot.

Then I let him shoot some coots!!

He has been hunting since he was about 6 and is now 13.

I am sure Uncle D will be proud.

congrats my son got his first mottled the other weekend and almost lost it because it tried to swim under water when a flock of teal flew in he let go of it for only a second but that duck wanted to escape under it went its sad to see a nineteen year old almost cry but i would have understood he started pulling up cattails and it poped up about three feet from the kayak.

congrats on the "cotton top" I have went the past two years without killing any; finally killed a couple this year though. Used to kill a few every year when I was younger.
