The meeting of the SFWMD WRAC to outline the actions to be taken to move certain projects forward at a rapid pace fortunately had ample inclusions of recreational use by the public.......THEY ARE LEARNING WE WILL BE THERE!!!! AND SPEAK TO THE ISSUE....For once my Public Comments were congratulatory, instead of having to ask where and when the public access issues would be addressed, I was able to list the opportunities ahead.
There was a standing room only crowd of "interested parties", including the "non consumptive" groups. Following the meeting, I was able to have a substantial conversation with Jerry Krenz, the recreation liason with the SFWMD, and was pleased with his ideas to improve access to STA1W and increase hunting opportunities.
This program will establish a number of resevoirs and marshes that will be good duck hunting areas.......UW-F will be in the game to get access asap. Newton
