Too much trash is accumulating on the STAs from slobs, especially empty shot shells.

Hunting on STAs is a priviledge, not a right as on other public land. Hunting can be stopped on the STAs with a minute's notice.

I do not like to get nasty emails or phone calls from the SFWMD about trash on the STAs. The STA managers go to work each Monday after work on "their" STA.....

We have asked the Gate Keepers and the FWC LEOS to require all hunters to show their empty shot shells and trash when they check out...If you do not have your empty hulls you can be given the choice of going back to pick them up or being ticketed for littering.

Officer Lee had great results using this scheme!

Meanwhile, please help by picking up the litter left by the slobs before you...

While we are on this topic. Where are the trash cans we once had out there. did SFWMD tell us we had to remove them? We need to get the cans put back because not only is there litter there but on the highways close to the sta's, it blows out of our trucks. If people had a place to dump it they would be more prone to put it in the trash where it belongs. every boat ramp i use has a garbage can, and i dump my garbage there from the fishing trip. So why can't there be some at the STA's.

No tengo gusto de conseguir email repugnantes o llamadas telefónicas del SFWMD sobre basura en el STAs. Los encargados del STA van a trabajar cada lunes después de trabajo sobre “su” STA .....

Hemos pedido los encargados de puerta y el FWC LEOS para requerir a todos los cazadores demostrar sus cáscaras y basura vacías del tiro cuando comprueban hacia fuera… si usted no tiene sus cascos vacíos que usted puede ser dadolos a la opción de ir de nuevo a la selección para arriba o siendo marcado para saber si hay dejar en desorden.

¡Mande las heces tenía grandes resultados usando este esquema!

I hunt the STA's as often as I can. I use the same rule I do with all of my other outdoor activities. Leave the place as good as or better than I found it. As far as trash cans, my 14ft canoe is a great trash can until I get home. Since I know I have to take my trash, I bring a couple of plastic publix bags with me.
If we require trash cans to remove the trash we generate as a guest on that land, we will start having to pay for the privilege to hunt there. FWC will have to start paying for the trash pick-up, and we all know that cost will get passed down to us. That is the best case. Worst case they will close them down.

The trash cans "attracted" a pile of trash around them, often by the canal fisherman that are out there during the week.

Coordination of who was dumping them each week was also time consuming.

We should plan for a couple clean up days during the season.

Trash cans will not solve the problem. Take a look at the trash cans on 8th street :angry2: Besides, it's the part about picking up the trash to begin with that is too much effort for the slobs.
