TMG - Stolen Decoys

This is to inform eveyone that someone stole (1) one dozen Blackwater/Rough Rider decoys valued @ $400.00 from the Handicap Blind out @ TM Goodwin Waterfowl Management Area.

The dekes were redheads, mallards, pintails & an assortment of others.

Please be on the look-out for these dekes since they have a few distingishing marks.

On the bottom is the brand of a "DU duckhead."

On the bottom & sides of the dekes are branded with the words "CAPT JEFF" (just above the waterline).

Sadly, these dekes which were stolen not from me ( I marked them just to ID them if this was to happen) or Blackwater (who kindly donated them), but from the HANDICAPPED HUNTERS that utilize the blind.

And before you ask, the dekes were inadvertantly left out by the TMG staff after last years season.

Hate to hang it on any one group but the only folks using the Goodwin Lake during the off-season are the bass fishermen.:angry2:

Those decoys were in front of the blind a few days before the Early Teal Season. The area has been closed to the public, except for alligator hunts, since TS Faye rolled through. It could also be that someone accessed the property illegally (poaching) and took the decoys.

It's lousy that they're gone. Maybe they'll turn up, but probably not. I have about a dozen decoys that I am willing to donate. I'll rig them up and put them out right before the season opens.

As far as the dekes go, I no longer wish to have any responsibility for the dekes.

I will let the TMG staff handle replacing them from this point forward.

I'm not going to approach BW again just to have them disappear.

A dozen plastic whatevers will just have to do from this point forward.
