We have had some success there the last couple of years. We have hunted many of the areas 1,2,5,6,7 and the eastern most airboat trail at the crossroads north of the boat ramp. We scouted there before the season and saw one flight in #1 and a second flight as were moving #1 to #2. #2 was so clogged up and we were probably only the second boat to push through the cut. We saw 30 birds.

A friend scouted #6 a couple of weeks ago in the afternoon and saw 6.

Sure would appreciate anyone who has had any luck to let us know not the area but if they seeing any birds.

We are currently hunting Loxahatchee (sp??) and seeing more teal than we ever have. I think this is because of the hunting in STA1 which is only 13-20 miles north. The gators in LOX are much worst than when I hunted SAT 1. Do not take your dog if you hunt LOX.

Most of the hunting has been by cuts 6 and 7. 7 was good during the first phase. 6 was good opening weekend of the second phase, but the birds left by the end of the week. This past Sunday morning was really slow, a lot of guys at Holiday Park got skunked. We got two ringers and had a couple of other shots.

I hunted # 5 on saturday dec 18. It was so so heard more shootin to the south but this means nothing. Birds were very spooky. they would check the deeks but kept their distance.
Managed to knock down 5 birds. 2 ringers 2 blue wing teal and a mottled. the teal were definetly a plus for holiday. saw 2 pairs of woodies and about 10 mottles but you have to get real lucky out there to get your mottles.

scouted all around 1 and 2 up against the miami canal and was amazed at the lack of birds.
have not hunted or scouted out there much this year but from talkin to my huting buddies you really have to stay with the birds.
they will probably change from week to week.

Went to Sawgrass Park Friday morn and saw 6 ducks fly by about 200 yards east of me and that was it. So on 12/26 my son and I went to Holiday park for the morning hunt and saw about 100 birds flying only had 5 come in the deeks. We got 2 fat ringers and 1 florida duck, but did see where most were landing and going to try on 12/28 to go to that spot. Thats the most ducks I have seen at Holiday in 3 years.

Nice wood duck.....

Just a hint...maybe you should join and take a look over at the members only site....I'm sure you would find it a valuable resource in your search for where the ducks are..... Or come to the UW-F meeting up at Titusville on Jan 8.... come early and you can talk with members and maybe hook up for a hunt.....It is going to be a hunting weekend with a business meeting at noon on sat...then fun food and hunting!

Joe is suggesting you join UW-F....if you have not.....you are on the public page where anyone can post....click on the Membership side bar...dues are 25 dollars a year to become a member of UW-F and join in the work to make duck hunting better for us here in Florida. Then you will be able to post and read the members only portions of this site.

Gators move just fine in hydrilla...fast enough to run down crippled ducks!

I had one close enough that I wacked him on the head with my push pole!

Real V... What Newton said...this is the public page so that we can get some of the word out on important issues.... We are constantly working on improving access to spots all over florida and the members page has more about where members are going and what they are seeing..and shooting. :)
