H.R.119 - "Harmful Invasive Weed Control Act"
Introduced: 1/7/2003
Sponsor: Rep Hefley, Joel [CO-5]
Summary: To require the Secretary of the Interior to establish a program to provide assistance through States to eligible weed management entities to control or eradicate harmful, nonnative weeds on public and private land.

Looks like the states will be getting more funding to spray the duck food.

Let 'em spray......in every state but Florida!!!
That'll help prevent the short-stopping of boids up north of us!! ;) :D

:confused: If hydrilla is so bad why is it so critical to make the STA's work properly? If more lakes had it I think Florida would have a lot cleaner bunch of waterways!

The SFWMD would like to find another plant as good as hydrilla and is experimenting with a variety of native vegetation.......

We will never be able to stop the hydrilla spraying...but can hope for some improvement in the planning and timing by the different agencies involved.
