The Merritt Island Wildlife Association put a very nice article in their newsletter of us this month. It's on page 5.

I vote to save the Southeastern Beach Mouse. Let's open a feral cat season.

this is great pat now maybe people will start to realise that we are not just hunters but we are also doing work that the whole refuge will benifit from. more birds and ducks will stop by drawn by more abundance of food. the bird watchers and photographers will benifit also. thanks for getting it in there.

I was in Nancy's office when she was writing that article - helped with a couple of edits.... :toothy10: She is quickly learning that hunters are not all about killing.

I see that Robert Register is leaving, that didn't last long.

Pat and crew,

What an excellent way to represent duck hunters. The article is great. It truly shows the concerns of hunters in a way much more understandable to those who do not hunt.

Thank you for the hard work and the shining light you brought to all of us with your tireless efforts.

Yeah thats too bad he is leaving. He is a great LEO and understood our problems. I don't know if they have a replacement yet. The article came out better than I thought with the info I gave her she did a great job on it. Good for us you happened to be there. She called and said she was writing it that day and that it needed to be in the next then leaving for vacation so I didn't have a chance to edit it. I just sent her an e-mail with some info. We are building a good name with them. Maybe one day we'll even go hang out with the birders for something.

Maybe one day we'll even go hang out with the birders for something. Maybe take them out for a day of duckin'. Show 'em what's it like to get up close and personal....:smileinbo

Very nice indeed. Thanks for all the hard work put in by the volunteers and thanks Pat for your leadership on this issue.:occasion14

This is a model of how we can expand our influence with other agencies and areas of the State and improve duck habitat at the same time.

I think that something similar could be done at Lox...If someone stepped up. :)
