Thanks to a strong push by Mike Collins we are finally making REAL progress on an ADA blind for STA 5. In fact, the plan will be for 2 on 5, 3 on 3/4, and 2 on 1W. STA 2 is scheduled to be off line for the next two years but it will have blinds at the same rate of 1 per 25 permitted spots when it comes back into the hunting program.
This effort is generally aimed at getting returning veterans into the field but the blinds would be open to anyone that qualifies for the FWC mobility impaired hunting programs.
We are pressing hard for at least 1 blind on STA 5 for this coming season. Since the rules are in place and the permits are issued we are looking for volunteers to give up their guest spot for a Vet. You would assist with placing decoys, retrieving ducks and you would be permitted to hunt out of the blind as well. The vet would be able to bring along a non-hunting friend on your permit as well.
I'm volunteering my STA 5 AM hunt on 12/21.
Do we have other volunteers?
