I had a great weekend to finish out the first phase. After limiting on STA5 on opening day with a good friend, Newton Cook, I limited to end the first phase on 1W with another good friend Dave Bobot. This time we were both done by 7:30 and checked out and on the way to breakfast by 8:20. Saturday my son and I went to our super secret spot that will remain nameless and He shot a Pintail, BWT, and Woodie. That was his first hunt with more than 1 bird and I'm very proud of him. I missed when the Pintail came in but dropped a mottled, woodie and a couple BWT as well. Those Pintail were amazing. 12 of them came from the stratosphere and did the neatest spiral right in to our spread. It took them about 4 swings but they were right over our heads the whole time. That was cool!

We had a great morning in the marsh dispite the idiot move of the year.... I put the boat in the water minus the plug:rolleyes: I've never done that in my life:confused: I went and parked the truck and came back to the ramp to find the decoys floating in the boat. Of course the ramp didn't have a soul in sight when I launched, then when I needed to get the trailer back down there to save the boat, 6 guys show up and I'm doing the chinese fire drill:eek: To top it all off, the $600.00 digital camera that belongs to my company took a bath. But I opened it up and pulled the battery right away. I just tried it this morning and Horray, IT'S WORKING!

Time to do a little maintainance on the gear and look forward to phase II.

years ago i went duck hunting when my nineteen year old was maybe five he said dad the trailer is making the boat do something funny. well the trailer took that moment to split in half the boat was in the water so we went hunting worried about the trailer later. we have all been there or will be sooner or later.

Friday before the season opener I take my boat to look 1 more time. During the drive I remind myself several times the plug is out remember to put it in. So what do I do remove the strap back the boat in with out putting the plug in of corse. No big deal still on the trailer just jump on the truck and pull forward no one is around to laugh. Pull out and here comes a boat and the young lady up front asked you forgot to put the plug in? My answer: Nope I was washing out the dirt from the storm. Heres your sign:D
