Welcome to all that visit us here at UWF. You will find that we are some of the most dedicated waterfowlers around.
We love ducks hunting and most anything remotely related to it.
During the off season, you will find us at numerous meetings working to open and maintain hunting areas that the public (such as yourself) may enjoy. Our members travel the entire state working with county, state, federal agencies and numeorus private organizations on conservation projects, water levels, habitat issues, public access policies, along with rule decisions and future regulations all in the benefit of the public as well as the members here.
We are not a hunting club as some would like think. We are hard working, fun loving, sports men and women. We donate to charitable causes, volunteer efforts for numerous wildlife species, provide educational opportunites when asked. Each year we host and co-host two youth hunts for the future hunters coming up in this world.
We offer our support to many hunting and several non hunting orgainzations. We have and do sit on most of the Boards concerning the Everglades restoration efforts. The SFWMD and the FFWCC have asked some of our members to sit or chair boards and committees for them.
You see, we are serious about what we do. None of us are paid for these things that we feel so important to us.
Our organization prints three Newsletters each year. Within these, you find regional reports ,as wellsome great information on hunting ducks here in Florida. We raffle two premium quality shotguns each year to raise money for our newsletter and projects as needed. We do not solicit funds from you at any other time.
We host a major meeting each fall when we all gather during the hunting season to set the schedule for the upcoming off season.

If by now, you haven't determined what we are and what we do, I would be suprised.
Let me mention some of the great benefits of being a member. You will receive the 3 Newsletters, you will have access to a top rated website with some of the most diverse waterfowl forums on line. A quality window sticker for your vehicle to proudly display.
You will have direct access to the Board of Directors, Regional Directors and all of the members and their points of contact and personal information.
Our website remains high amongst waterfowl websites.

Some examples of things you could be reading about inside.
This week many of our members hunted alligators, some for the first time, some seasoned hunters. Members helped members make some memorable hunts. The pictures are fantastic.
We have a running forum on fishing during the off season. The stories range from "well maybe" to "that should be on TV". Bass, Grouper, Bonefish, Tarpon and Snook are shown, page after page after page. Here again, helpful hints and instruction to those that ask.
We had a great thread during the Spring Turkey season. Birds galore.
The political season is upon us. Talks of concerns and desires are there in a thread by themselves for those who wish to contribute. We have a fine classified forum for your sales and buying needs.
So the next time you stop by to visit, remember behind the members only side there are tons of things going on. Membership has its priviledges and we love them. All this for $25.00 dollars a year.

Come on in.

Hello David and UWF members, I have nothing but praise for all of you and I confess to being remiss in my dues and all I can say I am stretched financially as most of us are but soon enough I'll send the moolah. I just realized I was still "alive" on this forum and I thank you for the "grace" period. Great site, hope to glean news and cheer from all of you. The water is rising, my heart goes out to those who have experienced damage, may you dry out soon. I expect we all will be "floating" better this duck season. My wife chastized me for the new prop but I needed one- she knows how I got stranded this past season.

I must confess that I love junk food. Despite all the training that I have given my taste buds I still like junk. Where am I going with this?? Well at age 41 the metabolism has slowed and McDonalds and BK are getting expensive. I've decided to cut them out. Instead of a junk food meal for my family of four I pay my UW-F membership. Think of the comparison a junk meal that does more harm than good or supporting an organization and being part of something that does so much good. It really is a no brainer. There are so many things in life that cost $25 or more and provide very little in return. In our husehold the UW-F membership gets paid, no questions asked. COME ON IN WE HAVE COOKIES!

UWF is currently working hard to ensure that duck hunting Florida remains. We are attending meetings each week or month with any agency or government body that makes the decision concerning access to the state or local lands that would provide an opportunity.
Our membership is diverse. From part time students to top ranking professionals, men, woman and families spend time together working hard.
We offer so much more than just hunting.
First and foremost, we care about the environment, the ecosystems, and the habitat and well being of the areas we so love.
Our members teach classes, provide labor or various forms of information including scientifice knowledge.
We as any other organization seek to form a good to great working relationship with other like minded groups.
We don't hide behind what we stand for to differ from where we want to be.
We see opportunity for all stakeholders to enjoy what we strive for. The hunting season is a mere sixty days in a seasonal year. The remaining off time is enjoyed by non hunting activities, providing various outdoor recreational and relaxing activites.
Never in our history have we asked that someone not be included in our efforts or accomplishments.

UWf can give you sense of pride and accomplishment. Something that you know will be around in the future, for the youth of today, when they are the elders of tomorrow.
Our schedule is in moton doing that. We are working with DU, the Audobon society, and various other local groups seeing that what is left of Florida is truly left behind.
Conservation, restoration, recreation, and preservation with use for all ,ranks high on the list. In turn we ask for a share of the use for all of our efforts and hard work.
Leaving it better for tomorrow and the next one who chooses to come along behind us.

You see, we have come along way from a bunch of "duck hunters" just wanting to hunt. We are striving to improve the conditions that will benefit the wildlife, thereby giving back more than we ever have taken or wish to take. Sure we hunt, it's in our veins, its a long tradition that is as rich as one could find.
Come check us out. You will find some really great people here. More like families and friends.

It would be our pleasure.
