Hi,
I just moved to Mulberry from Louisiana and I am looking for some places I might hunt this fall. I plan on getting a boat before then. Thats my second question. I know there is no perfect boat. But what would be my best boat choice for me and another person here in Florida?

Also looking for a hunting buddy. Have the decoys and am a pretty decent caller - both contest and meat style.
Thanks for any help.

A Where is Mulberry

B Pay $25 and become a member. Membership has its rewards.

C A 14 foot flat bottom or semi v jon boat, all welded with a 20+ hp mud motor will do. If you are going to be in navigable water at all times a short shaft outboard will do fine. There is alot you can do wiith an outboard, being from Louisisna you ought to know.

Welcome to the site. You're in a pretty good location with good duckin opportunities in all directions.

Post up on the members forum and you'll get a lot more info. Folks are not going to talk about specific areas on the public side.

There is a wide range of boat options depending on your preferences. Air boat will get you almost anywhere but sooner or later you'll sink it so have some frineds with one first. Mud motor on a flat jon will get you to plenty of hunting. There are several dealers here that are sponsors. Before I had a mud boat I killed plenty of ducks from a gheenoe with an outboard.

No need to do much calling. The mottleds will respond but very few green heads make it down this far. You'll be shooting teal and ringers mostly.

Welcome to Polk County. I live a few blocks from SS, PM me and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction. Once you join keep an eye out for info on Circle B utilization meetings. It is in our backyard and a wonderful thing if we can get it back.
