This was my first post and got the advice to post in public instead of private. Sorry for the mistake fellas. I'm new.
Well, I had started waterfowl hunting about two years ago and am really getting into it. Does anyone have any advice about hunting in the tallahassee region? I had some sucess on Lake Jackson last year, and know that miccosukee is good as well. If anyone has any advice or is a partner down in the upcoming season, let me know. I'm still trying to learn and love the sport.

Welcome to UW Bassinbrunner, can't offer any advice on hunting the far north :D for ducks as I only deer hunt up that way. I hear there are a bunch of woodies up that way though. Also redheads in some coastal areas. Good luck and hopefully someone will take you under their wing so to speak.

Welcome aboard ! If you're hunting over mallard blocks paint them to look like ringers, not many green heads around Fla. Also check out Lake Seminole over by Marrianna, I hear it can be pretty good at times. Good Luck and have a safe and productive season.

appalachee wma used to allow duck hunting during any other season. I kept hearing shooting off in the distance and it kept getting closer as the ducks flew off lake seminole. i went up there before christmas one year on the way up to my wifes folks in pensacola. left my wife and two sons in the truck took the dog down to a little pond had flocks of woodies fly in dont know if this still happens. its been quite a few years my youngest was a baby then now he is fifteen

If you don't mind sacrificing your gun to the salt gods. There are a lot of ducks on the coast around St Marks.

Hey, I am a Tallahassee duck hunter! In past have hunted Iamonia primarily, but its been basically out of commission due to low water for years. Last year we had water but no/few ducks.
I started going to PCS WMA as a result 3-4 yr ago. Its a long haul at 2AM, but I am crazy enough to do it. Lots of species you wont get here. Have had a little success on Lake Munson, Lake Talquin, but not a whole lot. I had one good woodie hole in a WMA but it hasnt produced lately either.
As you can see I need some new spots, maybe will try Micc some this year.
Email me at cvinson@psc.state.fl.us and we can talk.

Blindhog you should gear up for salt water. Lots of ducks in the marshes, but it needs to be nasty weather to keep them from rafting up offshore.:D

OK, I've got a crummy Win 1400 I can take for salt. Now, just draw me a map.

Have you ever been to the St. Marks wildlife refuge during duck season that pace is covered up with good ducks. i know you can't hunt there but you can hunt near there in the tidal sloughs. every time Iv'e fished the flats anywhere from Keaton to St. marks during duck season the ducks are all over the flats and sloughs. Get you a galvanized godevil and go get them.:D
