Gov. Crist appointed the following:
Robert G. (Jerry) Montgomery- Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts senior vice president of conservation and environmental sustainability. (Replacing Harkley Thorton)
Paul Huck, Jr.- Mr. Huck is a lawyer, former General Counsel for Gov. Crist and now part of a firm that just happens to be representing employees in a lawsuit against US Sugar Corp. (Replacing Nicolas Gutierrez)
This is going to be interesting as Malcomb "Bubba" Wade, another board member is a vp of US Sugar.
The last two Bush appointees, Mr. Wade's term is up next year...Mike Collins in 2010.
Nick Gutierrez was a good friend of UW-F and we hate to lose him. Frankly, Gov. Crist appointees tend to be less attractive to the hunting community. However, we always give new appointees the benefit of the doubt and trust they will support multi use public access to public lands, including hunting.
