The jeep has a 78 running gear with a 1998 fiberglass body. It is the CJ-5 model. Has a straight axle in front.
You would have put in a different front end and transmission to make it 4wd.
I am selling the jeep to buy an old 4x4.
The jeep fiberglass body alone would cost around $2500 in JC Whitney.
Jeep is also posted on craigslist.

Dude,

You put a CJ5 aftermarket body on a DJ frame with DJ running gear and you call it a CJ5, that is a misrepresentation of what you are trying to sell here on UWF.

I am saying this as an owner of several jeeps and previous owner of many jeeps.

Maybe should clarify your first post or even reposted the whole add.

I apologize for the "Dude" comment.

What I was trying to get at was this. I understnad a newer aftermarket body on the jeep. I have done the same.
Lableing the Jeep as something it is not , it another.
CJ5 assembly halted in the 80s and I have am still looking for a two wheel drive CJ5 on the production runs. I have yet to find one.

Now if you were to list it as such, a clearer picture would be painted.

1978 DJ 2/3/5/??? tow wheel drive jeep with an aftermarket 1998 CJ5 body on it, 232 cid motor, trans, blah, blah blah. $100,000.00 dolloars OBO.

I guess that I am a jeep purist by some standards. Sorry about that, I merely wanted everyone to know what it is and what they were looking at.

I would be glad to help spread the word and hopefully help you sell it.
