Ladies and Gentlemen,
Kris and Nance Wujcik from www.Manitobasnows.com have offered to raffle a spring snow goose hunt for the dates of April 10 - 12. The proceeds of the raffled hunt will go directly to help offset the medical expenses that our member, David Blood incurred during his recent bout with cancer.
As most of us know, and to those who do not know, David is employed by the state in a position that does not offer medical insurance. Members David Lithgow (Converted), and Steve Simpson (SSPhone), along with other site administrators are currently working on an alternate webpage that will enable funds to directly benefit the Blood family.
The details of the raffled hunt are as follows:
* Hunt for two (2) persons, 3 days. Arriving April 9, 2008, and departing April 12 in the afternoon/eve.
* Hunt includes everything, EXCEPT air fare to Melita, Manitoba, and License ($170)
* Bring guns, and waterproof camo. Shells can be purchased from Kris or brought to his lodge.
* Temps range from freezing to 60F.
As some of you know John Hitchcock (Hitch) and a companion, Dani, hunted with Kris and Nance earlier this season. They can attest to the sincerity and hospitality they recieved from Kris' first rate outfitter service. Kris has assured me these are among the optimum dates to witness/hunt the peak of Canadas' return snow goose migration. He is hoping that David Blood and his hunting partner will attend the same dates, so that he (Kris) can personally guide the entire hunting party!
Last time around we managed to raise enough money to take a small chunk out of Davids' medical bills, but it hardly offset the large balances that have been accumulating during his frequent hospital stays, travels, and chemo treatments. He has not been able to work for many months. We stepped up to the plate and proved that brotherhood, fellowship, and charity start right here at home. It's time we step up once more this season to help a good man and his family in their time of need. Good luck as our season ends, thank you, and stay tuned.
