What a great season! Sure not every hunt was a "limit" and some were a bust, but overall from the posts on the UW-F Forums those who worked had more than the usual success. Especially noted was the increased ratio of teal to ringers in the bags....exactly as predicted by the pre season numbers. Also, the increased number of "big" ducks continues in South Florida. And....we really are blessed with the growing number of fulvous and blackbellies that add another opportunity for a large duck and a good eating one at that.

Over on the Members Only Forum some one stated that now that duck season was over we move into the "Season of Love".....ie making up for a lot at home. (however you want to take that!).

What cannot be denied is UW-F moves into a Season of Meetings. The Calendar for February is already full with almost daily meetings across the state that will determine how successful next season and the seasons to come will be for Florida's hunters. UW-F's mission to "make duck hunting in Florida better for Florida's duck hunters" never ends....

Thanks to all members and friends who make the meetings and lobby for public access to public marshes, improved habitat on public marshes, professional aquatic plant control that considers the ducks and wildlife, less regulation, lower costs and more opportunities for duck hunting....

For those just visting the UW-F Forums who hunt in Florida (several thousand each month) and are not members of UW-F....Click on Membership and join with us in the battle! It will be the best $25 you ever spent for your hunting rights.....plus you will meet some of the greatest folks in Florida who love waterfowling.
