A workshop on the management plan for ALLAPATTAH FLATS and CYPRESS CREEK will be held by SFWMD at 6 pm, Tuesday August 10 at the BLAKE LIBRARY on Monterey Rd. (I believe) in Stuart.
This is an important meeting if you plan to have access and hunt either of these two areas.

Martin County for ALLPTA. Just west of Stuart. Recently purchased and in process of being developed as part of the Everglades extended plan. Only a pay dove field for hunting now, but property is a beautiful place for all game. Some political opposition to hunting at the county commission. FWC has a good person on the property. Need turnout at these meetings to insure hunting is an important part of the planning.

I am suprised at the lack of comment on this meeting. Anyone who hunts DUPIUS should be interested as ALLAPATAH is close by and has a lot of the same attributes. Because Martin county is involved there are some on that commission who are not for hunting on the property. Hunters will need to be well represented in the workshops or they will not have a say in the plan. There will be some duck hunting, but the property is a mecca for deer, turkey and quail. If this property is opened it would take some of the pressure off DUPUIS, especially on the quota hunts.
