Update On Sta Hunting

There is no SFWMD WRAC meeting in August. The next meeting is Thursday September 2 in Sanibel, FL.

This means the early teal season day may be lost. There are time regulations between vote and actions at the SFWMD. This is why the proposal to take the STA hunting off "experimental" status is important. This problem would not come up each year.

There is almost 100% surety the RAW proposals will be considered by the WRAC at the September meeting. We will need a good turn out. Please watch the web sites for updates and confirmation of the date.

I have my fingers crossed.....but things look positive for more hunters and two a day hunts right now on STA 5 and STA1W.

It would have been nice to hunt the STA's considering the amount of teal that they hold. If we cannot we can use teal season for it's traditional purpose hard work scouting.

This post needs to be at the top of the page! When should we expect to hear something from the district or FWC on the STA system for next year!

The FWC (Steve) is in the process of writing the rules.....and no doubt checking with SFWMD people.......hopefully we will get a chance to look at them before the Sept. WRAC meeting in Sanibel. Newton
