Anybody have the details on how to make a boat blind out of cracker grass.

From what I gather its made from cabbage palm fronds. Just not sure on the best way of fastening it to the netting.

Or if it has to be treated in any way.

Thanks

The easiest way I found to put fronds on the boat requires two pieces of PVC. I used 2", the length of the boat. Mark the center line on the pipe, drill small pilot holes from the top of the center line through the bottom of the pipe. I placed the holes about a foot apart. Take an 1 1/4 " hole saw and drill straight down through the pilot holes going through both sides of the pipe.
I drill four 1/4" inches through the side of the pipe along with four matching holes through the sides of the hull. I used 1/4" bolts with fender washers and lock nuts to attach the pipe to the sides of the boat. Use some type of selant behind each washer. Oh, one washer on the outside and one on the inside of the hull.
I painted the pipe to match the boat color. Green camo. I placed a PVC cap on the bow end of the pipe and left the stern end open. Cut your fronds and stick them down into the pipe. You know have fronds on both sides of the hull. If your boat has bow and stern handles. Place fronds in them to cover the ends of the boat as well.
Some guys use clamps to secure the pipe instead of drilling their hulls.

Good luck
