Waaah, my daddy never fried breakfast in the blind when I was a kid. My earliest memories of having hot food was stopping at the Awful House on Causeway Blvd in Mobile and getting to have a hot cup of chili.

I spent a lot of mornings in the blind with my dad. He's not able to now. :angry2: I just hope my boy takes to it.

Remember to bend over backwards to make it fun. Let him pretend to shoot ducks or coots with a popgun or BB gun, bring candy bars and honeybuns.
You might even have to cut time in the blind short depending on attention span to get him off to good start.

Couldnt agree more with BlindHog. When you take him...its all about him and his learning to Duck Hunt. My lil one went on his 1st hunt with me when he was 4. He graduated every year...from BB guns to him shooting with me assisting, from 1 round to 2 and 3 and so on...
Now...I still dont take any shots until he shoots 1st, and he's 13 now. All I can say is that it will be great! Congrats to you Dad for getting him involved. :icon_thumr

Took my boy to lake Seminole with Loneshark and his boy. Left Tville at 3:00 and there was still 5 trucks at the landing. We motered to where we wanted to hunt and got set up. Showed my boy (he's 7) the gater eyes and assured them that they cant get into the boat. then we proceded to cook eggs, sausage, bacon, and cheese on english muffins. yumm. We had a good experience with the other hunters everyone set up a couple hundred yards or so apart. At daylight not much happening, but the coots we flying everywhere. So we let the boys have a blast with them. My boy even shot one out of the air(with my help) he was elated. A great experience for him and he say's "when can we go again" . We did manage 2 ringers which decoyed in for him to see.

Glad it was a success. Wow - he already got his 1st coot. Wont be long till you are buying a youth gun I guess.
Had my starter go bad on Sat AM at 3:00AM at Miccosukee. :cwm21: Pull rope started it once, ran 45 seconds and wouldnt start again!!!:icon_redf
Put back on trailer and ran to Jackson since shooting is close enough there to reach on electric motor. Oh well, we got in a good blind but skunked and only had two marginal shots that BlindHog Jr. missed. Not many ducks anywhere on lake from sound of it. Still, had fun and traditional Waffle House post-hunt breakfast with son.:coffee2:

"when can we go again"
Thats it...his statement says it all! He is hooked. By that statement it appears everything turned out better than even you had hoped. Congrats :occasion14
