6PM in Green Cove is a can't make it deal for me. Hopefully some of the members closer can make it. Please address the SGA permiting system (if you have problems with it), and the cattail monocultures the marshes are becoming. These are the two main topics I have heard about or have issues with of my own. Thank you in advance for being able to be there.

Only one of the managed duck marshes (SGAs) is in the Northern area (Orange Creek), two are in the Central area. Central meeting is Oct. 3 in Gemini Springs.

And your point?

I had a message that my orginal post indicated all three were covered at this meeting so I put in the clarification.....Do not see how this is pertinent unless someone might make a trip up (north) hoping to comment on a marsh (central) that was not actually involved...But....just trying to be sure.....hard to see how the original post could be interpeted that way....North is North...and the large areas covered are the St. Johns River basin up to Jacksonville.

Now I understand what you meant...

Thanks for the clarification.

How about dropping the permit to get a permit crap?

Also, I would like to know if they charge all the other users of the areas for access? Can someone tell me how that works?

Got there late.

Needles to say I could have stayed home.

Made a few suggestions during the public comment period that were "noted"
And that was about it.

Wilbur... I did speak with Gene and we should have an answer on the Cattails by midweek of next.

Thanks for going Winston.....I actually got a call that afternoon from an FWC officer who wanted to know if we had any issues that might come up at the meeting. I told him we would be represented and had no major issues except improvement of the marshes....we have a lot of pressure on the SJRWMD headquaters staff currently and they have made some very cooperative moves down south...we should be able to have a more positive influence in the central and north as well as the UW-F name is now common knowledge in Palakta....mostly positive....but understanding we will push hard on issues.

I believe they are open to improving the cattail and willow monoculture disasters the marshes have become all along the river. Keeping faces in front of them at these meetings is important, even if no great issue is present today.

Please let me know when Herky Huffman assumes his place on the Board.

So what's going on with the Orange Creek permits? On the worksheet it says you need a SJRWMD permit to get daily permits, so I bought one on 8/27 and then they changed the dates. Now, they seem to have an Orange Creek season permit as well as the SJRWMD permit. Will I be able to get my daily permits with my SJRWMD permit? Also, how quickly do the daily permits go once they open up sales?
