Yesterday was my Doctor's appointment. I had a CT scan and blood work last week.
We met with the Dr. yesterday, prevois and current scans were compared side by side. There wasn't any cancer in my lungs, nor were the lymph nodes showing any. The lmyph nodes show dying cancer and the swelling has reduced several CM's from the start.
One of the nodes still needs some reductin in size inorder to be surgically removed as planned.
I will do five (four as of today ) more days of low dose chemo to help accomplish this and ensure all is well.
In the beginning the Dr gave me a 80-90% reovery rating and then upped it to 90%, saying that he wouldn't give anyone a 100%. Yesterday he smiled and said 92%. I will finish up on Monday with a preop consultation and then return for another surgery appointment later in the week. The surgery will be done before earlier season with time to heal.
I won't see my GU Oncologist until December for a cancer follow up.

More will follow later on. Its a little early and I am headed back to bed.

Take Care
David B

David, if any one finds offense in you praising God, you need not apologize to them.

Your faith is a lantern for all who seek the light.

3rd day of 5 finished. Can you sense my desires to have this done and over with? The staff and I had a good day, we joked around and talkedof life after cancer. These are some great people.
I managed to sleep through most of the treatment. It makes 5 hours go by a little quicker.
I will be headed to bed early tonight, chemo wears one out.

More tommorow!!!

God Bless
David

4 down & 1 more chair ride to go. I want everyone to start chanting around 12:30 pm tomm (monday), NO MORE CHEMO, NO MORE CHEMO.
Now I have to ask, does anyone have any hair growth ideas? I miss my stache and goat.

On a serious side, UWF members, AWF posters, Refuge posters, DU and Delta folks raised some serious money for my medical expenses. This doesn't include a BBQ, silent auctions that continue and donations sent by family, friends, and many unknown wonderful people.
Each trip to the cancer center costs hundreds of dollars in living expenses. The 5 day treatments wear me out to no end. If it weren't for the fact that we could stay within 4 miles and not 160 miles each way, I am not sure how I would have done it. Your prayers and generosity brought us through this long tough time in our life. If you notice, I have said we most all of my posts. My wife has been my main source of strength and confidence to do this. She has let me know that we will come through this on the healthy smiling side. Her strength in God and our faith together has absorbed the biggest burdens of this all. Without God in our lives, we wouldn't be where we are or who we are in this world. We are blessed in so many ways. Each and everyone of you are equally as blessed. You stepped up to help someone many of you don't know. Please know we will be there when you ask of us.
Today I siad goodbye to some of the kindest and compassionate ladies in the nursing field that I have ever met. They made us feel welcomed, secured and provided us with and vast intimate knowledge of cancer and the treatments that we would receive. I felt like we were leaving long friends. I promised to return on my check ups and visit. I will go back to Moffitt and volunteer some time as many did while we were there.
I not only leave Moffitt Cancer Center healthier, I leave with a renewed outlook on life and what it means to me. My priorites are still very much the same, they have been rearranged some and the lists has grown a little.
Reaching out and helping someone each day will be nearer the top. Be it, opening that door or just a smile to say Hello to a stranger and hopefully brighten their day, it all works for the better of all. There are so many good people in this world, look around UWF and the other stops. You will see them, look around each other as we have over the past months. We are so thankful for all of you.

God Bless/Love
David & Family.

Dave you are a joy to have as a friend. I consider myself fortunate to know you! Every time I talk to you I feel validated, maybe because we share so much in common, maybe because I feel your pain, maybe because I know what it is like to have someone in remission, cure, and taken. My dad is cured my mom is gone. I was fortunate enough to meet Lance Armstrong on one of his USPS stops and I will soon thank God for letting you join his ranks as my father did! I look forward to every moment I can share with you, knowing now how much it means.

Headed to work today. Yesterday's treatment lasted about 2.5 hours longer than most. Of course it was the one day that I wanted out of there early.
I slept well last night.
We got home and I put a flat iron steak on the grill. Maranited it with numerous spices and a little secret sauce. Served it over romaine, grape tomatoes, black olives and gouda cheese. Man its nice to be back home and relaxing.
I gained 9 lbs in five days while doing this last treatment. The steroids really blew me up. Now comes the work of getting it off and getting back to speed.
Today is going to be another very hot day, take it easy and be safe.

Much Love
David
