This meeting will be held at the RADISSON RESORT PARKWAY, 2900 Parkway Blvd. Kissimmee. 8:30-5 pm. I will be in Ohio and not able to attend. We normally do not attend every WRAC meeting, but the Recreational Advisory Committee subject may come up....also Public Comments are allowed (sign up before meeting) at some point and the STA situation could be addressed. Tough long tedious meeting, but if we have someone who has a day to devote for a few minutes of glory we should be there. Newton

Well, well, well...
Just got the agenda...
The STA Status update is last on the list - Probably mid afternoon.
We're told that Ron Barton is going to address the Recreational Advisory Committee. Since there is no agenda item for that subject it will probably come up under "member issues"... The first item on the agenda:rolleyes:
Looks like a long day, anyone have some no doze:D
I'm trying to rearrange my work schedule to attend.
WRAC May 6th 2004 agenda link (http://www.sfwmd.gov/gover/wrac/agendas/may6_04.pdf)
Here's a portion of the meeting minutes from the April Meeting
Meeting called to order at 8:40 a.m. by Chairman Collins.
2. New/Old Business Discussion by Chairman. Chairman Collins asked for member input. !
Member Issues: Rob Barton – WRAC Recreational Activities Committee update provided. There is an immediate need for the proposed Recreational Activities permanent committee to meet soon. Chair Collins said there was not a problem with scheduling a meeting for the committee. He also commented on the motorized vs. non-motorized boating and cost of boat ramps. Mr. Barton provided funding options. Input every six months to the Governing Board is what was agreed to by the Board. Mr. Barton asked for future presentations to the WRAC on all the STA projects that will be coming on-line, and the ASR program. Chair Collins said this will be done. Henry Dean provided information
on STA-5 and the status of the other STAs. A presentation will be made at the next WRAC meeting.

I got an email from Rob and he will not be able to attend but is sending someone to represent him. Don't know if the schedule is being changed. This is a big deal with the governor and a bunch of celebreties coming for the next day's GRAND OPENING of the Kissimmee restoration project. There is an extensive group of events around that and now I understand why the meeting is up there.

See separate post regarding change in agenda......Rob Barton called and will not be attending the May 6 meeting and the issues we are involved in will be on the next meeting's agenda. No specific need for us to make this one. Saves us a long drive.....Newton

I'm going to go to the meeting. I'll miss the morning subjects but there is a comprehensive review of the STA's scheduled for the afternoon. I got a copy of the presentation and the Recreational Advisory Committee is mentioned. I'll make a statement for UW-F in support of the progress made thus far.
Look for a report on Friday.
