I went to our local (county level) Republican party meeting on Saturday ...

My wife and I were selected to go to Presidency IV as Ambassadors.

Here's a little bit about the event ... straight from the Republican Party of Florida website. www.rpof.org
Presidency IV is a statewide convention designed to encourage participation in the Republican
Party of Florida and to showcase our Republican Presidential candidates. Presidency IV is a twoday
event scheduled to begin on Saturday October 20th with a Governor’s Luncheon featuring
Governor Charlie Crist and all participating Republican Presidential Candidates. The event will
culminate Sunday, October 21st with a live, nationally televised Republican Presidential Debate,
to be broadcast on Fox News Channel and on selected Fox local affiliates. There will also be a
Candidate Forum, Grassroots Reception, featuring all participating Presidential Candidates,
Sunday morning breakfast honoring the Florida Republican Congressional Delegation and the
Live Presidential Debate.

Good, maybe you can help get us a decent candidate for
'08.

If Hillarity Clinton wins, I am moving to Canada. I figure the hunting alone would be worth it.....

If you mean Jimmy Carter, the answer is no. Despite being born in the same county, I have nothing but contempt for said individual.

Oh, that Jimmy! I am not sure whether NoSoy is backing Hillary or O'Bama. (That is an Irish name, right?)

You sure you wanna hang with Gov. Crist..he is on that global warming "bandwagon" and some of you folks are real skeptical on that. Saw Crist and Gov. Arnold from CA on the early show this am taking global warming.

One bit of advice, I have a client who has gone to those...hold on to your wallet as its also a fundraiser:tongue11:

Not liars, just Dupes

The global warming band wagon is rolling.....going to be a lot of red faces some day. Just like the ones 30 years ago that said the earth would freeze by now....

Puny man versus the movement of the planets.....would make a good movie!

ALL A CROC>>> SCARE TACTIC!!!

I have to agree, and I like Alex's concise description of a modern politician, BUT let's not forget to insert the juicy tidbit that alot of wealthy proponents of this "phenomena" are poised to reap great financial and political gain by instilling the fear in the masses asap. Big money drives hysteria like this, and the "herd" often tends to play follow the leader as they tumble over the cliff.

Personally, I liken it to "modern day 'snake oil' salesmanship". Then again, everyone has the right to opinionate on the matter, and I suppose it makes us all think about it... To me, it sure is amazing how some people will embrace an absurd idea, yet question the existence of God. Is there a parallel?

Back to the sprit of KH's original post, I hope he can set someone, anyone straight while he mingles. Good luck...

I agree with Alex's comment as well ... I've been around long enough to know that everything political is a "compromise" at best.

Capt. ... I don't know about "setting anyone straight" ... but, I'll definitely find out where they stand on the important issues.

There is one candidate that I like ... but, he hasn't committed to running yet ... still in the "exploratory committee" stage. It's Fred Thompson ... well spoken, former US Senator, with a real "down home" attitude. His general attitude reminds me of Will Rogers. ;)

Me too Kev. :icon_thumr Let's hope he makes a decision, commits, and musters a effort! Alot of folks out there who know nothing of him or his platform..

Señor Keith that was unfair. My physical attribute was absent from this nest of malcontents at the time of your untruthful and mean comment. Are you not the infamous MerganserAtomizer? Never the less I brought you back a souvenir from my recent journey. You'll look dashing.
It's obvious that many politicians are in it for self serving purposes, be it for wealth, or perhaps to show how stupid a human can be( such as our current sorry excuse for a prez ).
I would vote for O'bama, a fine, civilized gentleman with impeccable Irish roost. In fact I would vote for Rin Tin Tin to keep another bad movie sreen actor from perverting the world.

OK ... just got back to the house. I've got to go into work this evening ... so. I don't have enough time to post a synopsis ... or to upload the pictures. I'll try to get it done after work tonight. ;)

Let's just say ... for now... that I was impressed! Especially with Gov. Mike Huckabee. :)

Kevin Hall

OK ... I'm back. ;)

I'll leave the synopis up to the professionals ...

Anyway, this event reminded me of exactly why I don't like "professional politicians". Never give a straight answer ... answer "around" the question ... or just change the subject totally!

There were only two candidates that answered the questions that were directed to them ... Fred Thompson & Mike Huckabee. Frankly, Mike Huckabee performed much better than everyone else at the debate. I think he just might be the "sleeper" of the bunch. ;)

Here's a few pictures...
