I am considering purchasing this unit. Does anyone have any experice with this particular model? Any recomendations would be appreciated.
Carlos, thats the GPS I have. It works great for everything that we do. Eddy has the same one also.

I have a 76s and a 76csx. Save a few more pennies and get the 76Csx. The color screen is a little smaller however it is MUCH easier to see in all light conditions. Also the expandable memory is much much better. The 76s is good but nowhere near the performance and capabilities of the 76Csx.

Tough units. Mine has been beat to h e double L for years and still runs like new. I've got the original 76 b & w; I'll upgrade to color when my hair starts losing some and I can't read the screen anymore :p

I have the GPSMAP 60C. I agree with Swilli, spend the extra to get color. Worth every penny!:icon_geek

Garmin is terrific. My 76s is almost five years old. It gets used on my flats boat and my duck rig from the Bahamas to the West Coast of Florida throughout the Keys. It's probably a bit overloaded with BlueChart software but I really like it. I've smashed the screen twice and both times Garmin took great care of me. Something they do that I really like is free software updates while the GPS is in for service. Color is great but I'm with Dead Ringer and will buy it when mine goes feet up or I can't see it anymore.

I must say though, I might think of getting color if they can get the sat imagery to a higher resolution in the future. Right now, the generation 2Bluecharts have sat maps to go straight into the higher end GPS units, but I tried zooming in on Holiday Park Trail and my eyes hurt; it was nothing more than a blur.
