I don't know if anyone has noticed ... but, over the past couple of years, the local PBS stations have been airing episodes of Water's Journey. It's filmed and produced right here in Florida ... High Springs, to be exact. Wes Skiles is the producer ... along with cameraman, diver, researcher, etc. It's filmed in High Definition ... producing some outstanding images of "Natural Florida".

There have been three episodes filmed so far ... Hidden Rivers of Florida ... about springs and the aquifer, The River Returns ... about the St. Johns River, and the most recent episode (two parts) is about the Everglades ... Restoring Hope, and Currents of Change are the names of the two latest segments.

I have found this series quite enlightening. ;) If you would like to read more about the series, along with video clips, the information can be found at http://www.karstproductions.com/waters_journey.html.

I have seen all 3 over the past few month. Great film makers. Very informative.

The filmakers docked at Georgetown Marina during filming of the "The River Returns"

Met the crew, real nice people.

saw one where they showed the water flowing thru drainage pipes into the wekiva then into the saint johns pretty neat makes you think more about what you spray on your lawn or pour outside.

I watched one of the episodes quite sometime ago and I believe that I posted something about it here as well. I remember how pumped up I was about working harder on the restoration of the Kiss. River after watching it. I believe that it was the same episode as the one that Randy watched.
They can be ordered. I will add these to my video library of good outdoors shows.

Thanks for the post Kevin.

I've got all of the DVD's ... everything that Wes Skiles/Karst Productions has made. The newest ones, on the Everglades, are on their way to me right now ... :D

Entertaining, as well as enlightening. ;)

Yes, I have seen it and they start the journey at the end of the river then go to it's source.

you got to admit pbs is good for something the shows on the saint johns from the mouth to the head waters made me want to take a trip of course now you would definitly need airboats and maybe four wheelers if it gets much drier.
