I just got a call from Pepi and our document on Recreational Policy for SFWMD just got passed through the Board of Governor's. This is a joyous day for all South Florida duck hunters and other recreational user groups!!

Thanks to Newton Cook, Converted and the members of Delta and UW for pushing this through. A big thanks goes to the 8th Street Gang for showing up in full force the last 2 meetings in Miami. You guys represent the duck hunters well!!

We now just have to stay on their arse to make sure the employees of SFWMD implement the plan!!

Well done and thanks to Alex, PePi and the other Miami guys who finished out this last important meeting for those of us unexpectively stuck by business commitments here in the cold north reaches of South FL. Having statewide support by members gives us the chance to have representation when situations arise in any area. The burecrats are all getting paid and get travel expenses when they schedule these meetings......we have to rely on dedicated local members to take up the slack and be on hand to represent all Florida duck hunters. Thanks again for making UW-F and DELTA a force in the SFWMD's plans for the future, especially on issues of access and hunting. Newton

Great News! Let's get on SFWMD right away to form the Recreational Advisory Committee. It may take some time getting it set up and the sooner the better.

Jeff, Newton, and Dave I hope you all know that we are at your disposal. I had mixed emotions today. I felt great about what I was doing and what I stood for. But it killed me to know that you guys were not there. It was so unfair for us to enjoy that moment without you. I am very grateful for the opportunity to solidify things down here in the Tropical south. These boys are riled up now. I have 10-15 brothers that are the core of the 8 Street Gang that will do anything for UW. Forget about what you've seen this is only the beginning. If anyone has any questions just ask Ryan Tanner! We will be here from now on!!!

Congratulations to all of you hardworking members down south! They say being a duck-hunting advocate is like shaving--you have to do it every day or you look like a bum. Well, you guys make us look clean shaven all right. Keep it up!
