D Duck,Rut ALL of you that are so PRO UW lets go dont be scared I dont bite. Get involved and give BACK to the resources that provide you with what they can so you can hunt. All proceeds go back into CONSERVATION. If you dont care about conservation then give up hunting because then your only a MEAT HUNTER and not a SPORTSMAN. .;) ;)

Come on guys showm me what you are made of.

So far as a group or organization that I have put this challenge to you guys are in DEAD LAST. Pick up the ball and lets go. I am ready to get involved and many of you have told ME put up or shut up, WELL NOW IT IS YOUR TURN PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

Well, what I am not made of is money. My ex and her lawyer have seen to that recently.
I sell UWF shotgun raffle tickets every year, and buy them myself. And that's what I'm going to do again this year. I'm not going to sell your group's.
No, it's time for you to put up or shut up. Join UWF, work for us, for the ducks, for the future of Florida duck hunting, or it's you who needs to shut up. :p
At least here on these boards. ;)

Typical responce from you. I also buy tickets for the UW raffles and I will never buy another one again if all that i get is this responce from UW members. $5.00 does not hurt anyone for conservation. This is not a personal issue only one for conservation. If you dont care about conservation then so be it. I DO.

darkwing,

It's obvious that you are passionate about conservation - that's great. However, I don't understand your way of "persuading" people to buy raffle tickets. Calling people cheap, meathunters, telling them that they don't care about conservation and to put up or shut up doesn't seem to be an effective way to ask for money.

If you want me (or others) to buy your tickets why don't you explain some of the conservation projects (large scale and small local projects) that this money is going to.

I have no idea who you are, but right now, based on the posts that I have read so far, you appear to be a disruptive a-hole. Since this is not personal, maybe you can change my mind with good facts and information.

I'll start with a question - Let's see if you can get $20.00 worth of raffle tickets out of me. :D

Does the F.S.C.A. compensate their officers and/or directors for their services?

I am a member of FSCA as well. I am not real active, but I do know they volunteered their time to build and put out 25 wood duck boxes for Delta Waterfowl last year. They have also been very instrumental in getting SFWMD to open up their lands to hunting. I also attended Youth Conservation Day which was put on by them 2 weeks ago. They hosted over 1,000 people and introduced a lot of kids to different outdoor activities.

As far as Dennis is concerned, you will not find a person more concerned and involved in conservation. However, you do have to realize that he makes a lot of "tongue in cheek" comments much like some of our other infamous duck message board posters. He was somewhat put off by UW in the beginning which I will not get into the details here, but he is coming around and is serious about his challenge. He will do a lot of good for UW, just like he has for many other organizations.

Bottom line is your hard earned $ will be going to a very good cause. If you already have an SBE or another fine shotgun, you could always donate your winnings to UW for our raffle gun.

Ahhhhhh....Dennis.......see you in the morning at Dupuis, good luck with the turkeys but I hope you are somewhere other than the Access Rd......thats where I will be biking along......Many of the UW-F guys don't catch the sarcasism as they don't know the history of the first days of UW-F when a few folks just seemed to be out to antagonize the agencies and wanted to sue everybody.....we have pretty well stopped that nonsense and I would put UW-F's influence and results up against any organization for the past couple of years. I concur with Jeff that you do a lion's duty for conservation and hunting and we sure would like to have you rejoin what is now a positive and fun group of dedicated duck hunters who plan to "stick to our knitting" and be the Voice for all Florida duckhunters at the complex and often just plain boring agency meetings. We do not intend to be a DU "lite" and our members enjoy doing projects with DELTA and DU. BUT.... It is important for DELTA and DU members to recognize the need for UW-F and support the actions by joining and adding their Voice.

Dennis... You gave no address where to send the money???

I also would like to know more about what your organization does/has done.

I also doubt that a threat that unless you sell $500 worth of raffle tickets to our members you won't join us will work out very well either.....just my opinion.

While Dennis and I were standing in the middle of the woods on a road in DUPIUS this morning admiring the two turkeys killed by a couple of fellows we know (one was Leonard (Leroy) Garcia)who were willing to bike an extra three or four miles before daylite, we had a pleasant conversation (I bought 5 tickets). Incidentally, the group raffleing the gun is one Dennis really works for as well as DELTA. They had a 1000 folks at their outdoor sports event at CORBETT a week or so ago.....lots of kids got to shoot for the first time and learn outdoor skills....I believe the relationships between the various conservation and hunting groups continues to improve and cooperation can only help all of us. Just as UW-F has banded together with SAFER bass anglers to help save the L67 canal and access to the glades. we need to use the larger numbers of other groups to impact the agencies and politicians.

I may be the biggest A-HOLE you will ever meet. That may be your impression of me. You dont know the history behind my charmed sarcasim wit a select few. Just understand this when it comes to duck hunting and conservation I am very passionate and may ovestep my words in the wrong way..

I will post up info on FSCA in a bit.

You being an a-hole is just my FIRST impression. Since you love duck hunting and conservation we might become best friends.:D

So lets hear all the good things that FSCA does and also tell me where I can send my $20.00.

FSCA is a very active group that does at least 1 project a month. We just put up a shelter/picnic shelter on the kissimmee river just south of melbourne for the FWC. Some of our past projects have been shelters in and around this same area along with exotic removals for the city of WEST PALM and soon LOXAHATCHEE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE. The club will be celebrating its 10th year in a few months an sports over 250 members. We meet the 2nd tuesday of every month at the FWC offices in Royal Palm Beach. We have completed many wood duck projects in and around LAKE "O" and are in the process of some new projects up and around Fort Pierce and above here very soon. The club does a great service for FWC and other GOV agencies. We are very active with the State in getting laws passed and are presently very active with the new airboat noise issue. We have done extreme testing for FWC and are very instrumental in helping them and the agencies involvedin getting these new laws passed so that we can ALL live with the decision that is made.

We are members of ECC Everglades Coordinating Council, FL Airboat ASSOC. Numerous RAC committies and a few other organizations as board members and such.

ALL of our monies go back into our projects as we are a non-profit group. Allof us love the outdoors and try to spend every free hour we have helping out. We are in the process of a 911 shoot for CHARITY (HOSPICE) is our chosen one.

We also plant a tree every year for a person whose past accomplishments were outstanding in the field of conservation. This is a MEMORIAL tree for that person.

We are a dedicated group of individuals who spend our time helping mother nature and hope you can find it in YOUR heart to buy a raffle ticket for a great cause and support US as we support the animals Including the ducks which we all so love....

darkwing,

I'm not really sure that you wrote that last post;) - although it doesn't really matter because it sounds like FSCA is a good organization.

I'd be glad to help out - please tell me where I can send my $20.00.

In the first post you mentioned "$5 worth of tickets to 100 people" ... that works out to $500 in tickets.

I was just curious. ;)

Show me some major interest from UW members and the deal will be sealed. As of now only 3 people have come forward and bought tickets. I feel that I have MEET the criteria of those that are skeptics so let me see how they handle this situation from this point on. I personally am only looking for this from people who have a concern about the future of wildlife period and that does include my favorite DUCKs. If we as sportsmen do not help and protect what viable assets that we now have we may have NO more in the future. If you care about ducks then you should also care about CONSERVATION.CONSERVATION is a vital part of duck habitat and breeding grounds that WE ALL should be concerned about. FCSA stand ready to help and not just for one species but ALL.

I guess there are those of you that are not buying tickets because of me. Well so be it and if that is the case I can give you another person who everyone knows and you can buy tickets from him. I will keep my membership status on hold as it is obvious to me that that is the hold up. I will keep my opinions and views to myself and share them ONLY with those that respect and understand me.OVER AND OUT. Those that sent monies tickets are on the way and it has been???????:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p
