Got a call from my taxidermist, "Your Black Belly from 2005 is ready!"

Wait, there's more --- "Oh, yeah, the bad news is he is missing 3 or 4 primary feathers from the left wing where you really busted him up." (I dont think he was missing any 3 or 4 primaries when I brought him in, but its moot now.)

Might anyone out there have some feathers I could patch this problem with?

Anyone out there a taxidermist with a bird someone hasnt claimed? Or doing a standing mount with wings folded and could spare a few feathers?

Thanks Joe.:tongue11: Guess I'm not used to shootin' at birds who fly like a buzzard. Weird thing is the next day I was knockin' down both BWT and GWT who fly like little rockets. I'll practice shootin' floatin' frisbees and try it again next season. Oh yeah, I'm bringin' waders this time too.:icon_geek

Yeah, Maybe they were just too big and slow...I've heard that before :tongue11:

You're set for a rematch next year.....maybe some "custom" ultra slow shotshells. :icon_smil

Thanks Joe, I may have to take you up on it.

I agree with Duckwhacker, those things fly so different they can throw you off if you're used to rocketing ringers. First time son and I saw those things, we almost let em pass. Thanks to their lack of speed, still had time to recover and drop a couple.

I am going to send my taxidermist some crow feathers and see what he can do.

Joe, I accept your rematch. I feel my old shotgun may have been to blame so I'm thinkin' about gettin' a new one to remove that variable from the mix.:laughing3 Maybe some 600 fps #4's special handloads too.:tongue11:
