does anyone know where to get live birds for training purposes in the central florida area

Get 'em while you can. The FWC just passed a ruling that would disallow free roaming mallards.

When I trained my retriever, I went to a feed store and bought a couple of ducks. Clip their wings.

They might last for a while, if your pup doesn't have a hard mouth.
