See CONVERTED's post on the members only site.....this is an extremely important meeting in terms of "turnout" as we expect the Audobon folks to be there in numbers to support their "October suprise" insertion of "piority shall be given to recreation that does not disturb the "natural sound' experience". In essence, this clause could allow a burecrat at SFWMD to ban all motor boats and air boats and firearm discharges on ALL SFWMD lands, including the current WMA's such as DUPUIS and the Everglades areas. We were able to get a revised clause that limited the possible impact to "sensitive areas".....but who will determine what is sensitive? The portion of the meeting involving the Recreation Proposal is early on so do not be late. We need the support of the Miami crowd......we are fighting to get the STA's open, to save access off of 41 and the L67 canal....all to the Miami's groups benefit.....but few if any attend the meetings.....do not complain if you do not participate! Hope to see a good crowd, wear your DU, DELTA or UW-F hats! Thursday, 9 am at the Doubletree Hotel, 2649 S. Bayshore Rd., Coconut Grove, Miami.
