Is there an official "Press Release" regarding the Meeting?
If so I would like to pass it along to the Hunter Safety Section, Region 5 and get a presence from there.

The UW-F WINTER HUNT AND BOARD MEETING is the only "official" event of the year. It started with four or five of the original board members meeting as a corporate "board meeting" to make plans and has grown into a weekend event where members can come with friends and family to a location (now rotated between Titusville and Clewiston) where the official Board Meeting is held...Duck hunters coming together like to go duck hunting, so the locations are where abundant opportunity to hunt, even free lance if you are not too familiar with the area, exists.
The offcial meeting itself is short....12 noon on Sat. to 2 pm....so afternoon hunters can make their way out....after the meeting, however, there is an "open mike" style of give and take among the members and officers remaining for as long as they like.
Where a total of 15 to 20 was once a good turnout we are now exceeding 50, some coming on Friday nite and staying over Sat. nite as well. Every thing (other than the two hour meeting) is completely informal with the attendees doing their own thing. Hunting, cook outs, partying etc...is all spontaneous. UW-F is not "event" orientated with auctions, and fund rasiers built into the meetings. We do intend to incorporate a summer event...UW-F FAMILY PICNIC AND MUD FEST...to be held in the opposite part of the state from the WINTER HUNT AND BOARD MEETING....one event south, one north each year.
We do have special guests expected to this meeting...Diane Eggeman, Manager of Waterfowl FWC from Tallahassee and Dorn Whitmore from MINWR are expected.
At this point we have about 50 confirmations and we have a catered lunch for 50 ordered....we can add to this, but do need notice by Friday nite.
Welcome all members, family and friends!!!

Newton - just to clarify, Dorn's last name is Whitmore, not Whitman.
