:DWhat kind of boat moter combo do you all hunt out of. I have a camo 1964 Lonestar 14'x44" v-hull with a 11hp godevil on it. She is not fast but will go anywhere and will pick thru the stumps better than any flat or semi-v. No blind we mostly hide the boat and stand in the water. Steve where do we post photos? And how? Maybe we can have a boat section :D

thanks. when you reply to this post, see the part down towards the bottom of the page that says "attach file"? just click browse and point to the pic on your computer. it has to be less than 100kb to post. if its too big, open in a pic program and resize to 50% or 25%, save then look in explorer to see the size. only bad thing is you can only post one pic per post so i had to post up like 5 times to get those pics. that should solve your problem, but if not post up and we can help ya more. :D

1993 1432 Lowe with 6 hp Mudbuddy Ultralight. Beavertail Blind.
1963 16'Carolina semi v-hull w/40hp Merc.
Whats nice about the Beavertail Blind is it fits both boats and takes about a minute to switch between the two.

I am picking up my new rig this afternoon. Its a 1648 Grizzly with a 29hp Mud Buddy. I had a removed poling platform put on for the other 10 months. I am planning on trying it out this Sunday on Orange lake, hopefully we will have a good shot for our maiden voyage.

Nah man not a skiff. Its a handlaid fiberglass hull made specifacally for Lake George, to run shiner lifts and catch baitfish in shallow water's. It was made by the late Myronn Warr of Welaka, Florida who was well known for his wooden flatbottom comercial fishing boats (circa 1950). The boat was originally purchased by my Grandfather in 1964, resold in 1969 to the former Merck's Landing Marina in Georgetown, and used as a rental untill 1977. Then it was sold to Charlie Craft of Crescent City, Fl and used as a Monkey Fishing boat untill 1986.
(Monkey fishing is the use of an AC current generator powered by a DC motor. Low Amperage of course which will only affect skinned fish, catfish etc. A illegal means employed by many Commercial fisherman in this area from the 50's on up untill today)
The kicker quit on Charlie and the boat sat under his pole barn untill 1999 when I purchased it from him. It was interesting that Charlie knew the history of the boat and remembered my grandfather running it.

Love the history lesson ww.
I have a gator trax 1844 with a 25 mudbuddy and a 16 ghenoe with a 9 hp mudbuddy. I have a fasthgrass blind on the gator trax. Haven't used it much this year though.
The ghenoe is a badass rig it will launch anywhere and go anywhere. But I will not take it anywhere I can't walk out of. Plain and simple the stern will go under if launched at the wrong angle. In the off season my buddy is going to modify the stern to make it safer. I had the pleasure of sinking this rig last year. Yes I could walk out.
Good luck at orange mahi, I think that place is a lost cause this year but I hope you prove me wrong.

The maiden voyage with the new boat was great. Those mud motors will go anywhere. As far as ducks it was rather slow, 1 ringer and I missed my first mottled. We saw a few other groups of ringers but none worked the dekes. I am going to try it one more time this weekend.
