This is a crutial meeting for duck hunters. Perhaps the only input before hard plans are made creating tens of thousands of acres of wetlands with NO HUNTING signs on all of them from north of Okeechobee to West Palm Beach. These STAs will be duck magnets and will drastically reduce populations on all current wintering areas unless they are hunted. The meeting is January 13 at 6:00 PM at INDIAN RIVERSIDE PARK, 1707 NE INDIAN RIVER DR., JENSEN BEACH, FL. For futher info....Dave Unsell SFWMD 561-682-6888. Drainage systems into the Indian River from Okeechobee, Martin, St Lucie and adjacent counties will be modified and converted to SFWMD lands. Currently, these types of lands are all off limits to hunters except one, STA 5 one day a week for 35 hunters. Not a very encouraging start! UNFORTUNATELY BOTH JEFF AND I WILL BE OUT OF THE STATE ON BUSINESS THAT NITE.......NOW IS THE TIME FOR SOME HELP! WHO CAN ATTEND THIS MEETING AND REPRESENT UW-F AND DELTA?
