Canada Goose Season Update

I spoke with Diane today and she is changing our request for a statewide Canada goose season.....making it the entire waterfowl season, matching the white goose season that began this year. We had only requested a "nusiance goose" season statewide and this is a very good adjustment! We will have to see if the season will be put in place next year or the year after.

Thanks again to Diane for her work to make duck (goose) hunting in Florida better for Florida duck (goose) hunters!

Glad to hear this -- I was going to post something up for the monthly electronic meeting on opening up Canada hunting in Fla.

I was out scouting Lake Jackson Saturday near Tallahassee and jumped two separate flocks of Canadas. Chaps my hindquarters that noone will be able to bust em on Saturday. Meanwhile I have to watch people on TV taking them from Tennessee to North Dakota by the dozen like its nothing.

Get one of those quiet "metro barrels" and get paid two ways all at once.

Those things are a bad nuisance in N.J. My brother used to live there and geese were everywhere...golf courses, parks, parking lots, you name it. Had to be careful where you step!

There are exactly that right now here. Everyday there is poop on the sidewalk of my office building.

The last two springs they literally roped off and closed one entrance to protect a nest until the goslings hatched! And posted signs that disturbing nesting geese could get you arrested!
