Remember the issue of the FWC constitutional status? Remember when we asked members and friends to email, write and attend the meetings supporting the special status to make hunting regulations without political oversite....

Well this is what happens in states that do not have their Commissions in the state constitution....they are subject to both legislative and public votes....

Michigan got a dove hunting regulation approved but it was challenged and put on the ballot for this week's election. Is anyone suprised the anti's won?

The Humane Society of the US is spending millions across the country to stop hunting....

UW-F is a small part of the battle against these anti hunting organizations. Thanks again for saving Florida from this fate at least for the time being.

Can you fill me in on the rationale for this decision? What is different about a dove than a duck?

Doves have a special place in the anti's hearts...but I would not want to put duck hunting or any hunting up to a popular vote in most states today...we need to be sure it doesn't ever happen here.

Maybe because doves are symbolized as a bird of piece and ducks fed numerous people dinners for years, before , during and after the great depression.
JUst a guess. I really haven't got a clue.
