I decided to scout a new location yesterday afternoon.
I ran into the marsh and saw an average number of coots
After about a 3 mile run I jumped a nice group of 10 divers.
I went over to the spot and threw out a few deks
When setting up the blind a boat comes by.
A minute later, a large flock of 25-30 divers that he kicked up fly right over me... gun still in the case:( Oh well this is going to be a good spot.
After a half hour of no birds flying close, the cell phone rings. I put gun down, pick up phone, look up and 5 mottleds are looking down at me:( By the time I tell wife "gotta go, be home later" the ducks are gone.:(
Lay back down and watch ducks buzz the edge of the weeds about 100yards away for 45 minutes or so.
Sun hits horizon so I pick up decoys... wait... where is my sweet avery snaplock push pole...
Spend hour trying to find push pole, get home too late for wife's shoping plans:( Spend evening in dog house:confused:

Can't wait for Saturday to do it all again... Are we nutz:p

Adjust your location to put yourself right where those birds want to be. Sounds like you at least had a descent scouting trip. I hunted the other morning and had a friend on the phone I put it in my top pocket and was calling play by play how the ducks were working. It was really killing him to here that while he was at work and supposed to be working. Hope you get on them. And yes we are nutz.

NUTZ?? I found out that telling my girlfriend that her birthday (sunday) was poorly planned, was a bad idea. My vacation starts today and I'm gonna hunt tomorrow just so I can get out of dodge after my remarks. I thought it was funny!
