You ain't lying. Just got home safely. Widgeon were dropping in all morning with lots of teal. Only saw 1 small flock of pintails before the wind picked up. Ended up with 1 mottled 1 gwt 2 bwt and 1 widgeon. Lost a drake widgeon and I wouldn't let my dog work it to hard because of gators close by. I got my arse kicked by the wind on the paddle back. Went by myself in a canoe. I'm whooped.

I went yesterday with a friend of mine. We had ducks working the dekes all morning. We ended up with 1 BWT, 5 ringers, 4 GWT, and a hooded merganzer. We also had a shoveler down that we could not get to.:D

Where (without meaning to pry too much) was this good action?

We were at PCS and I have to say we were just in the right spot. Most people we talked to did not hardly get anything. The wind was blowing so hard that most individuals with canoes could not get to the birds. It was truely the best hunt I have had all year. I guess everyone has got to get lucky at some point. :D

Ooh yeah!
NOAA calling for heavey freeze advisory, dug out the old Mr Heater, got a bottle of propane and you can bet your azz the Beavertal Blind will be up blocking all the wind.

I was at MINWR but you gotta be in the right spot with the right weather conditions. Years ago I stumbled onto this spot while heading back out of the marsh after a slow morning. The winds had picked way up and as I was cruising by in the boat I noticed the ducks piling into a small pot hole. Limited out on widgeon in less than an hour after setting up in the hole. Thats my favorite late morning windy day spot that I have.
