I'm looking for some decent compact binoculars for field use, turkey hunting, etc. A couple of years ago I picked up a good full-sized pair of Redfield Renegades 10x50 for around $120 for the boat, these are too big to tote around walking. The Bushnell H2O pair fell apart, they were ok but now I am in need of a pair. Anyone recommend a compact for say, up to or under $100?

Based on the recommendation you gave, and the excellent price at the time, I bought'em. Nice little binoculars, indeed!

Don't go cheap.... I have a pair of Nikon 10x25's I bought over 20 years ago that are still going strong. I only wish they were fogproof.

Raul,
I can get all types and will sell them at cost to you. Shipping is going to be whatever from here to you.....The items will not attach to this so I would need an email address...............Don't worry as you can't get them as cheap as I do

Thank you, gentlemen! I love the Nikon Buckmasters 3/9x40 scope on my Rem 700 30-06, they make good ones.

Good glass makes a world of difference. Unfortunately I can't afford or justify putting big money into compact binos i'm going to crawl around with. My 30-06 has a Kahles on it and I can drive tacks in almost darkness with it.

Last summer, my family and I went to South Africa. I knew I was going to hunt, so I packed my Redfield Renegades 10x50. They never made it to Madrid, our first stop. Must have been stolen at MIA- I was very upset, I mean they were "only" $129, but still a pain and ironic, everyone always asks about safety in RSA, we have too many thieves right here!- I had also packed those compact Bushnell H2O's which came in handy. In hindsight, those big glasses would have been okay for safari viewing but definitely not toting around the bushveld, where we did trek, countless miles. The guide carried a medium/compact pair of Minox's...I did borrow them a couple of times and they were very good. I've read reviews on the Minox, all very positive, but nobody locally carries them. I paid $195 for the Nikon Buckmasters scope, which was recommended by a good friend- the Rem 700 is the SPS economy model and it has bagged several feral pigs here and is very accurate, like you said, backcast, you don't need to spend that much to get quality glass. However, the airfare last summer has created a major debt issue, but it was sure great to travel there and get impala and warthog.:angel4::

Thanks Bill, but until the ones I have break, no need for new ones. I just have to remember to keep them in my coat when it's cold - antifog!
We'll get together again next season.
