I have a Mdl 500 slug gun but the recoil is a killer; does anyone have an opinion on aftermarket recoil pads like the Pachmayer Decelerater or the HI-Viz or the SVL Limb Saver?

I have a "kick-eez" recoil pad on my Berretta ... it's OK. If I were going to replace it ... I'd get the pad from Simms Vibration Lab.
Anything that can reduce the vibrations from a compound bow is bound to do wonders for shotgun recoil!! :)

I have the SVL Limbsaver. Great pad - will add about 1/2" to your LOP. Best part is - no gunsmithing required.

Better than a recoil pad. Federal makes a low recoil rifled slug. I don't know what the velocity difference is but the recoil seems about half.
Even though they are rifled, they shoot fine in my rifled slug barrel. Grouped as well as sabots at 50 yds. They shot well at 100 also, but I didn't shoot enough of them at 100 to verify grouping or drop. Seemed to be well within eight inches.
Got them from Cabela's in a five box for $5.49.
