FWC Summer Youth Camps

O.K. folks its that time of the year to do a litttle work with our future! The schedule is as follows... June 15,22,29 July 13,20 7:15 till 8:00 PM. Karen and I will be at all presentations but would greatly appreciate your involvement. This is alot of fun and very rewarding, it's a good feeling to put something back into duck hunting! If you would like to help out please shoot me a PM.

We were notified by the camp director this afternoon about a change in the class times.

Classes are now going to be held from 6:15pm till 7:00pm. (Still Thursday evenings, just one hour earlier than the original time.)

Last weeks group was larger than expected...approx. 70 kids! :eek: Were only expecting 35-40. Looks like we will be needing more posters, ID books, apps. & stickers.

Oops, Just realized that I had not posted the directions to camp on the public forum.

It is held at the FWC 'Hunter Education center & Youth camp' located in the Ocala National Forest. Below is the address and directions as given on the FWC website.

Coming from Ocala: Take State Road 40 east to County Road 314 (look for DOT road sign “Hunter Ed. Center-Youth Camp”). Turn left (north) on CR 314 and travel approximately 8 miles. The camp is located on NE 170th Avenue. Turn right (south) at the Camp sign. The gravel road will dead end at the camp gate (approximately 1/2 mile).

Coming from I-95:

Take State Road 40 west to County Road 314-A (look for DOT road sign “Hunter Ed. Center-Youth Camp”). Turn right (north) on CR 314-A. Travel approximately 8 miles till dead end into CR 314. Turn right on CR 314 and travel approximately 1 mile till you see the camp sign at NE 170th Avenue. Turn right (south) on NE 170th Ave, the gravel road will dead end at the camp gate.
