Long....long....long....day, but we got our licks in on boat ramps and public access on the Corps projects (in addition to the ACCELER8 projects). These included the large C-43 Reservoir (Labelle area), the EAA Reservoir in addition to the EAA 1 Reservoir and the C-111 Reservoir. Greg May, the predecessor to the current USCOE's Col. Carpenter leads this group, chaired by Ken Ammon. This is a very important group with reccomendations going directly to the WRAC and Governing Board. Audubon was there and a few green groups. We were the only group touting public access, recreation and. of course, fishing and duck hunting.
It will be neccesary to add this group's meetings to our agenda....lots of influence at Corps, park, DOI, USF&W, local governments etc. etc. on the committee.
Did determine that the Broward County WPA project (just east of 27 from I595 south pass Griffin Rd. is too narrow for hunting and we do not need to make those meetings.). Weston and other developments are right up against the boundary on the east side.
